Fans of the Barclays Premier League in the UK will now be able to catch all the action on their iPhones thanks to a free iPhone app from ESPN, called ESPN goals.  Goals from Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and every other Premiership team will be streamed on the new sports app, just minutes after they happen.

The best thing about this new soccer app is that it is completely free.  The ESPN Goal app was available last season but the reason you probably didn’t hear about it was because it cost either £3.99 per month or £29.99 annually, which was a little expenisve for most casual supporters.

Thankfully, a sponsorship deal with Bet365 has meant that the app will be free to download this season from the iTunes App Store.  The app will have some Bet365 advertising and will come with a Bet Now button that will allow users place bets at Bet365 directly from the app.

The ESPN Goals iPhone app will cover all 380 Barclays Premier League matches this season, bringing user live scores and stats, weekend round ups, match previews and interviews from the Premier leagues biggest stars.  You can even set an alert to let you know as soon as your team have scored.

Other smartphone users aren’t being left out either.  An ESPN Goals app will also be made available for BlackBerry, Android, Nokia and Windows Phone 7 mobile devices.
