Many thought this day would never come but Apple have finally approved a real money poker apps for the iPhones, iPads and iPad Touches. Bwin have done the impossible by getting a cash game poker app into the iTunes App Store.
Now before anyone gets too excited I'm afraid the App will only be available to Bwin customers in the United Kingdom and Austria initially, however, Bwin do plan to make the iPhone gambling app available in a host of other European countires in 2011.
So what has caused this change in Apple’s anti-gambling stance? The answer is technology. The new iOS4 operating system for the iPhone and iPad comes with a geo-location feature that can disable an app if it is used outside a certain jurisdiction. Apple were always wary of releasing real money gambling apps that might be used in countries where mobile betting is illegal, leaving the technology giants open to possible litigation. With the new geo location feature Apple can now release gambling apps for the iPhone in particular countries like the United Kingdom and Ireland where online betting is legal.
We’ve been trying out the new iPhone poker app and we must say we are pretty impressed. It comes with a host of really great features including, hand histories, table selection, fast re-seating and automatic hand evaluation to speed up play.
Bwin are also in the process of merging with Party Poker so it is surely only a matter of time before a PartyPoker iPhone app appears in the iTunes app store.
Bwin Poker for iPhone is now free to download from the iTunes app store in the United Kingdom and Austria.
Bwin, the largest online gaming company in the world, have launched a new live betting app for the iPhone. The app called Bwin live for iPhone is one of the first real money gambling apps to be approved by Apple. The new app can now be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store.

The new Bwin iPhone live betting app is currently only available to Bwin customers in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) and Austria. Bwin have indicated that their new sports betting app will be made available in other countries in 2011.
If you are not based in either the UK or Austria, you can still place bets from your iPhone using the Bwin web app.
